Yesterday was the 6-month anniversary of my ACL replacement surgery. I am almost back to normal as far as my day-to-day indoor life is concerned. I don't quite have the quickness of step that I used to, but I can run a short distance and look like a human rather than an opossum.
Lately after working out at the Google gym, I go to the little park behind campus and run around one of the grass strips. I get winded before my knee starts to hurt, which I suppose is progress. The last time I did this, I broke into a real honest-to-God run, with normal motion, and it felt so good.
